We are about 3 weeks since the release of 'A Conjuring of Curdle Cove', which is chapter 2 from Salum planum, and I have played enough to write what my five favourite cards are from this chapter.
There are so many great cards that obviously cannot all make the list. To mention a few that didn't make the cut:
Tankards; great chroma boost for any Salum deck. Rune stone is the perfect extra bit of mill, especially as it doesn't count as apart of card limit( and if played while something like Apollo is out activates other abilities). The veil chaser is beautiful, I like that you have an option of abilities and is great to played for free with thrusters and followed by engineer (check out my secrets of the seas deck building post).
I could go on but il stop procrastinating and get to my top five cards in Salum Planum 'A Conjuring of Curdle Cove'.
5- Luxmorn Villager/Moonveil Harpy
Luxmorn Villager is a good Introduction to secrets, which is my favourite mechanic of this chapter (the ability to steal opponents cards or your own if that's works better).
She always pays for herself, but if played right has potential to win the game
(if played after Summon the harvest[see slot 2] you gain at least +6).
I have placed Moonveil Harpy as an Achrom alternative, with a -1 for all cursed cards on all canvases you can easily win the game with him or do mass damage, especially if played after Dark Rainbow [See slot 1].
4- Asa/Apollo
These twins kick arse! There's a great satisfaction in getting them both out side by side and then gaining and stealing after playing actions (especially if you play dark rainbow).
3- Eldoris of Culuda
I feel like she is the coolest looking Legendary card this chapter and such great value for shards. For only 3 pay she steals 2 back , and her action has the potential to board wipe chroma opponents.
Check out my Sea Witch Deck to see how I play her.
2- Summon the Harvest/Luxmorn lighthouse
I love playing Summon The harvest, it's a really nice way to control what cards you will draw next or putting more secrets out onto your canvas.
And you cannot have a secrets palette without Luxmorn Lighthouse. A +3 resolve, a way to add a secret every turn and even better a way to reveal those secrets for free !
If you play it right , Luxmorn can reveal all 5 secrets that you created with summon the harvest (can be risky but real fun with it works out).
Suprise, suprise!
I think Dark Rainbow will be in everyone's highlights of Curdle Cove. I do not understand why you wouldn't put two copies of this card in every Salum Palette that you make.
It's shocking this isn't a rare to be honest!
The potentials with this card are crazy.
Curse someone's cards and +2 for all cursed cards on all canvases.
So one way of playing this is to quickly curse all opponents cards to play something like Moonveil Harpy or Summon the Kraken (claim all cursed cards until end of turn).
Or of course to just get a huge chroma boost.
Which can be really crazy especially if your playing against multiple people. Say for example: one player has 4 cursed cards which they use to curse 2 cards of another players and you have 3 cards out on canvas. If you curse your own canvas that's a +18 (which is +13 after the 5 shards you pay to play dark rainbow).
Basically this is a game winning/ game changer and deserves number one spot !
Thank you for reading, I know that's technically 8 but the slots with two are either ties or interchangable.
I would love to hear your opinions in the comments about what your favourites are from this release.
