Revealing SECRETS

Image
Secrets is a great keyword in the world of Achroma. It came out with The Conjuring of Curdle Cove realise / Salum Planum chapter 2.  It was largely popular as it is an interesting way to play, often strong and sometimes really risky mechanic. I stopped playing it for a while just from building different Salum decks.  But I have recently revisited and rebuilt a secrets palette, and in the process remembered how fun it is!  For those that don't know it is a keyword which allows you to take the top cards from any palette and place it under one of your own cards on your canvas.  This removes them from play and can help with cards like Lord Willard, which is steal 1 for each secret on your canvas.  You also have the option at the very beginning of your turn to erase your Keeper (card Infront of the secret) and gain that secret on your canvas for free.  I found myself longing to play some secrets so I made myself this deck:  Straight off the bat, there are definitely improvements that yo

24 Live Charity Stream (highlights and a look at the tiers)

Image
Charlie, also known as Viridian (the community coordinator) hosted and ran a 24 hour live stream from the 19th-20th August. This was to raise money towards Dexter's Arc, a platform that works to raise money towards helping children with cancer. To read Dexter's full story and what Dexter arc helps with please click here .  As you can see in the screen shot the community raised just over £500! This is amazing!  Great work for everyone, especially for Charlie for staying awake and active the whole 24 hours. It was a lot of the fun.  There was a link for direct donations but the main way to donate has always been buying a 'Dexter, master of dragons' realm runner card. This card shows  young Dexter immortalised into his parents world of Achroma.  The stream had a lot of community games. Charlie has admitted he was quite worried about really late night/ early morning when he thought noone would be online. But community members stayed awake and was playing all through the n

Turn 1 Wins (pt.2)

Image
Following my last post on a Turn 1 chroma win, I spoke with the community about other turn 1 wins that people have had or could theoretically have.  This article includes three more examples.  One from myself, one from Veridian (Charlie) [The Achroma Community Coordinator for Realm Runner Studios], and lastly one from fellow player and blog writer Echo7, link to their blog here.   My turn 1 win idea is very simple, Asa & 2 Caches.  This is an Achrom win in a 1v1 or a way to eliminate an opponent turn one on a bigger multiplayer.  You need to go last so that your able to steal,   Playing Asa puts you down to 6 Shards, resolving her now leaves both you and your opponent on 8. Then two Caches activates Asa's Ability leaving you with 6 shards and your opponent on 0 !  Many Achrom wins can happen turn 1 because opponents have left themselves far to low on shards. Shard management is really important to learn, do not overspend before your able to gain or trade for them back . ~ Verid

Turn One Win (spirata idea)

Image
I almost had this hand, but not quite. I hope to one day get it. I wanted to post the idea here, ask if anyone has won this on turn one and what other first turn wins people have had.  For this to work you need to be able to trade twice and have 10 shards. So, this means your 2nd in a 1v1 or anytime in a 3+ game.  You first trade the first Lab Coat to be on 16 shards. Then you deploy Trainee painter (obviously not gaining its action) and then splat two full palettes on it.  Playing these get you on 11 shards but with a 13 resolve you will be on 24. Then trade the 2nd Lab Coat to win on 30!!  Has anyone had this win before? What other turn 1 wins have people had or can think of?

Realmless Tier Ratings

Image
Creating card tier ratings has begun, as a way to have fun and help new players understand what are popular cards. Charlie on Achroma's weekly stream kicked this off by tiering the realmless cards whilst the discord community rated their positions. This also served as practice for making a tier of all the separate realms, soon to happen on a special 24 hour live stream.  Here's what the realmless tier looked like:  Some obviously disagree with the list and have different opinions but more or less everyone agrees with the top3, just maybe in different orders than shown here.  3- Haim Shard Cache  2- Jamshid Orb 1- Cintimani Stone  Niimi, Ray and the Rifts are close behind but cant really be played in any palette as easily as the last three, mainly because they're legendary and may not be who you are after to play with.  3- Cache is a great card and it's a very valid argument to put it higher up on this list. Unlike the two rares in this list, or all the legendaries with

Draco temple has fallen (Achrom Wins)

Image
Congratulations all those who were playing Achrom, fighting with the Achrom Dragons & Drakes or any Achrom palette.  Bad news for chroma players everywhere, Draco Planum will never be the same again! Exciting to see how this will change the lore and what effect it will have on cards in Draco Chapter 2!!  For anyone oblivious to what I am saying. Each realm of achroma has chapters where a story is taking place. The stories are all essentially good Vs evil,  chroma Vs achrom. The last month of a season is a narrative event, where all wins of either play style gets logged. Whichever has the more wins impacts the story itself.  A really great engaging way for the players to be apart of the developing world of achroma and creates healthy competition and fun narratives. I myself played on the fence, as both play styles are fun and any result leads to more interesting lore and cards. Although majority of my wins were chroma. This got me 4th in this season's chroma leaderboard, with my
