This is my first article in a while. Mostly my content has been on video .  Largely I am not recording due to loosing my voice working as a scare acter (boo!)  Although, it's good to be back on blogspot, thank you for reading!  We are in Norso spoiler season as we approach the release date for Norso Chapter 2 : The Monsters Of Norso !  We seem to be above ground in this chapter, obviously with monsters.  After yesterdays blog ,with my new Dexter palette build, I realised some errors that I needed to amend.  Mainly being that I didn't notice that the characters in DDR are all heroic. So, I had mistakenly played doubles.  I took many of the second copies of heroic cards out and switched for similar characters. This allows more cards on my canvas as well as adding even more drain and steal into play.  I kept two copies of Thisp as its action can be very helpful. I also added two Monastery nests because they are great gain locations.  To read all the information on how this palette works and how to get Dexter out, you can read here . Those have stayed the same.  However, I realised getting Dexter out later on in game is much more benficial than earlier for a big sudden gain.  Here is the new deck list:

 Happy new year!  It's been a while since I wrote a blog entry. I have been more focused on making video content. You can find all my social media links here to view them.  I am back today with a new palette build for Dexter, Master of Dragons.  With the release of Dexter's Dragon riders, I have now combined cards from all three Draco releases into this palette.  (Remember if you want to buy Ddr or anything from achroma.games, you can use my 10% discount code 'playingachroma' in the checkout).  The idea here is to get Dexter out quickly protected by Jamshid orb. You want to gain good with Dexter's and other dragons that he is protecting.  However the element of surprise of how much steals and drain is in this palette can hopefully be a win con to a surprise Achrom win, or at least hold them back whilst I climb to chroma win.  Crucial discovery is meant to only find Jamshid orb and Algiz. The main purpose of today's article is to praise Achroma for its fantastic community.  The company itself does so much to interact and strengthen their community but then the players themselves take it a whole step further.  I have always felt accepted and welcomed by the Achroma players on discord . But, living so far away from where most of the action happens (Poole and more northern areas) I hadn't had the chance to meet people outside of the internet. That changed when I was invited to Mcm Comiccon London by the Achroma Team.  I was very blessed to be invited into the Achroma Guild. An inner circle of sorts (which will keep growing).   Going with the classic Dexter and Materno protection shield but changing dragons for creatures.  Maternos egg now only reveals Materno and not other low shard dragons that often went into Dexter decks.  I also put Impundulu feather in as it's even better protection than Materno and will even protect the more higher shard rares.  Creatures also get an extra boost from Slivinee (+X for each creature, including itself). All creatures are such low cost that you can easily flood the canvas them them.  A few freeze locations, actions and other aggressive actions to battle opponents plans.  Some card changes can easily be played around with here and changed but I am enjoying this one.  Rares :   Vast Volitarus can easily win the game itself too so put in there for shard boosts.  Materno has been explained above.  Jali and Ursusma are strong characters with strong abilities and can be trade fodder at the very least.  Draco chapter 2 has landed and we're all having fun working out the mechanics and possible synergies. In today's article I will share my first two attempts at palette building; one Chroma and one Achrom.  I will also talk through some of my thoughts on the cards and synergies. This is just my first attempt with these cards  so I am bound to make many changes. Please share your opinions on my builds and article either in the comments below or on the discord.  These are my two Legendaries for my palettes. I love the concept of having God's in the game. Both of these strike me both visually and with their abilities.  Hularla having a massive +4 makes it only a 2 cost. It's a location that becomes a strong character on your turn to attack and can FREEZE a cards resolve once per turn.  Mist Morgana standard -2 but with the magic of taking away another cards ability and forcing them to attack is a super exciting prospect.   With Draco Chapter 2's realese due in about 2 weeks time we keep seeing more and more sneak peeks at what's to come (new dragon card and lore writing can been seen in above photo). It is a two red shard location, with +1 resolve and the fixed ability 'Characters on your Canvas canning be FROZEN while The Fire Pit in on your Canvas'.  I really like the art work, a little warm nook in a cave over looking the icy realm. Draco Planum Chapter 2 ' The Last Snow Dragons of Altari' has been sent to the printers and will be with us sooner than the think! (See the new promo location above) And with the excitement we have been blessed with a few sneak peeks at the cards and the two new keywords : HUNT & FREEZE !  A card with HUNT ,as explained above, chooses another players character. On your next turn as long as both the Hunter & Hunted are still on their canvases then the ability commences. You see in the example of Dark Hunter you can erase the target card. Where as another example below Ogul allows you to dig for an ALLOUROS card. If will be interesting to see how many ALLOUROS type cards there are and how good this ability will be.  Kocora Bri is a legendary and is also an ALLOUROS, with it's mighty stomp of an action, bringing it back multiple times could be devastating.  This character seems to have 'mega hunt'. After playing around with my first Draco palettes (deck build here )  I have turned my attention onto the key word SACRIFICE and building around that.  At first I didn't like the keyword, as it seemed there are better actions where you can get the same effects without also erasing one of your own cards.  However, when combined with other objects and actions this keyword all of a sudden gets really strong.  Examples; Bathed in Achrom means you can erase cards on an opponents canvas instead for a turn (and play 1 sacrifice card for free!)  Dark Toli means your attached character doesn't get erased when sacrificed. Sacrificial Ovoo allows your sacrifice ability to be done twice (for example scorch usually is steal 2 will now be steal 4!)  And Stolen Dragon Egg when sacrificed immediately steals 3 and then whatever the sacrifice effect does! Spirata Season starts 1st October and the next narrative event begins; Fairies Vs Pixies! Who will win? Who are you fighting for? And all I can say is..... I hope that they call it SPIRATA AUTUMN and not Spirata fall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Fall is an American term and as a great English game it would be gut wrenching if we don't use Autumn! I must admit fall does 'fall' of the tongue easier, but still this is my current worry 😅 Either way though this is will be a great season as it is a very strong, fun and popular realm. The fight for Flutterby is on! And it is really hard to decide who to side with. In the lore I feel like chroma should win as a loss will really put a big drain across all the realms (although maybe the evil in you likes that). However, both factions have super great cards to play.  I always play both sides, I did lean much more on the chroma side for Draco's season.   Now Draco season is over I finally have all have all Draco chapter 1 cards, better late than never.  Iv played around with a few different decks and I am liking this dragon Palette at the moment. I am going for the dragon synergies but I chose Tenebris over Darnacusk because tenebris has a good steal 3 natural resolve and a powerful action of erasing a character or location.  I'm trying out serpents ring to steal other people's cards or to get an extra dragon on my canvas for strength in numbers boost.  However, I would probably swap that for cintimani stone and add Haims if I was to take this to any competitive events.  All characters are dragons apart from Nue which is a good way of protecting Tenebris.  Some strong control actions like breath of fire, claw slash & Draco summer.  Prism stone has to be one of the best valued objects in the whole game.   In for the chroma win and agressive plays. The idea here is to get the twins out, with help of Solomon's influence and then play as many actions to trigger their abilities.  Jamshid orb and bothy for some protection. Cintimani stone and revival to get them back from dregs. Updates: I own two Haims to put in now, and i put in summon the thrusters which is a free mill card if you have Apollo out.  A few good locations here to play and also to use as trade fodder. 2 fireballs, tempest, Silent Thicket to mess up people's plans.  Tankards & Dark rainbow usually get the win!  My favourite build at the moment and does very well. 

Secrets is a great keyword in the world of Achroma. It came out with The Conjuring of Curdle Cove realise / Salum Planum chapter 2.  It was largely popular as it is an interesting way to play, often strong and sometimes really risky mechanic. I stopped playing it for a while just from building different Salum decks.  But I have recently revisited and rebuilt a secrets palette, and in the process remembered how fun it is!  For those that don't know it is a keyword which allows you to take the top cards from any palette and place it under one of your own cards on your canvas.  This removes them from play and can help with cards like Lord Willard, which is steal 1 for each secret on your canvas.  You also have the option at the very beginning of your turn to erase your Keeper (card Infront of the secret) and gain that secret on your canvas for free.  I found myself longing to play some secrets so I made myself this deck:  Straight off the bat, there are d...

  Charlie, also known as Viridian (the community coordinator) hosted and ran a 24 hour live stream from the 19th-20th August. This was to raise money towards Dexter's Arc, a platform that works to raise money towards helping children with cancer. To read Dexter's full story and what Dexter arc helps with please click here .  As you can see in the screen shot the community raised just over £500! This is amazing!  Great work for everyone, especially for Charlie for staying awake and active the whole 24 hours. It was a lot of the fun.  There was a link for direct donations but the main way to donate has always been buying a 'Dexter, master of dragons' realm runner card.
